I’ve noticed a growing trend in the books I’ve been listening to lately—especially in paranormal and monster romance, but also creeping into mystery and thrillers. More and more authors are writing in first-person present tense.And I have to ask… when did this become the default? For me, it’s the literary equivalent of handheld camera work
