Welcome to What I’m Writing—a laid-back space where I share excerpts, rambles, and behind-the-scenes chaos from my current works-in-progress. Basically, it’s a sanctioned place for me to emotionally dump and nerd out about fictional people I’m loving.
The Project
My Beauty and the Beast-inspired monster romance—but with hackers, banter and digital seduction.
The Setup
Today, Claire, our FMC is trying her best to break her nerdy beast with some sexy cosplay:
I stepped into the Cherry room and made sure to trip one of the motion sensors just inside the doorway. AIDA would flag my location instantly. Adam’s security feeds would light up. He might ignore my texts, but he wouldn’t ignore this.
“Jinkies,” I said, nice and loud, letting my voice bounce off the walls. “I think I’ve found something interesting in here…”
The lights hummed softly to life as I moved toward the Cherry 2000s. I bent at the waist to get a better look at one of the glass cases, fully aware of what that position did for the camera angle behind me. The hem of the sweater rose high, giving a perfect view of red and curves and not much else.
“These are quite impressive specimens,” I murmured, tapping the glass. “The craftsmanship is really… intimate.” I let my fingers trail across the smooth surface, letting the innuendo simmer just beneath the words. “Someone clearly put a lot of thought into these designs.”
I walked a slow circle around the display, pausing at the one in the metallic blue jumpsuit. “You must’ve had fun building these,” I said, grinning to myself. “But I’m starting to think you built them before you met someone with… better source material.”
I drifted deeper into the room, fingers dancing across equipment, trailing over the edge of a workbench. I picked up a random tool and squinted at it like it might offer clues, playing the curious little sleuth to full effect.
Then came the moment of truth.
“Oh no,” I gasped, deliberately fumbling the glasses off my face. “I can’t see a thing without my glasses!”
I dropped to my hands and knees—slowly, deliberately—and crawled across the polished floor. The sweater rode up again, baring me almost completely. I arched my back just a little as I reached forward, patting the floor as if the glasses had teleported.
“Where could they be?” I asked the air, knowing damn well where they were. “They have to be around here somewhere…”
I stretched, wiggled, adjusted the angle just enough to guarantee his attention. Then I froze dramatically, eyes wide.
“Wait,” I whispered. “Could they be… in this incredibly distracting pose I’m making right now?”
Nothing.
Then my tablet pinged from where I’d tucked it under the corner of the workbench.
I grinned.
Thanks for reading! I’ll be using this series to share scenes, behind-the-scenes thoughts, and all the nerdy chaos as Hacked by the Beast comes together. If you’re into Beauty and the Beast reimagined with 90s hacker vibes, alt girls, monster spice, and emotional slow burns—Let’s talk about it! 💻❤️🔥
If you’re really excited about it, let’s talk about beta reading.
